Comparación de niveles de disforia por comportamientos, fantasías y orientaciones sexuales entre adolescentes heterosexuales, bisexuales y homosexuales

Resumen

Existe notable evidencia de que las personas no heterosexuales tienen mayor riesgo de padecer trastornos mentales y cometer suicidio, debido la estigmatización, la discriminación, la crítica y el hostigamiento que reciben. Sin embargo, hasta la fecha no se han encontrado investigaciones que estudien el papel del malestar por comportamientos, fantasías y orientaciones sexuales entre individuos que asumen diferente orientación sexual. El objetivo de la presente investigación fue comparar los niveles de disforia derivados de los comportamientos, fantasías y orientaciones sexuales entre adolescentes que se identifican como heterosexuales, bisexuales y homosexuales. Se contó con una muestra de 464 estudiantes de preparatoria de la ciudad de Morelia, Michoacán, México; 300 (64.7%) se identificaron como heterosexuales, 93 (20.0%) como bisexuales, 64 (13.8%) como homosexuales y 7 (1.5%) como otros. Se aplicó la Escala para Evaluar Disforia por Comportamientos, Fantasías y Orientaciones Sexuales (E-DCFOS) que contiene dos factores: Disforia con Baja Activación (DBA) y Disforia con Alta Activación (DAA), asimismo se solicitaron datos sociodemográficos como edad, sexo y orientación sexual. En los resultados se observó menores puntuaciones en la E-DCFOS y el factor DBA en los participantes que se identificaron como heterosexuales respecto a los grupos formados por bisexuales y homosexuales. Se destaca que personas que se identificaron como heterosexuales obtuvieron puntuaciones del E-DCFOS muy elevadas. En conclusión, el presente trabajo evidencia que la disforia por comportamientos, fantasías y orientaciones sexuales es un factor que incrementa el malestar y, probablemente, los riesgos de padecer psicopatología. Por ello, sería recomendable realizar intervenciones preventivas para reducir dichos riesgos en adolescentes y jóvenes.
