Abstract

In this article we propose to define two different dimensions of the term “analyst’s desire” in Lacan’s teaching: firstly, the one associated with the notion of phallus (in the context of seminar 8), and on the other hand, a second one related to the category of object “a” (in the framework of seminar 11). Both dimensions are developed in the first two paragraphs. In a third section we present a clinical case in order to illustrate the previously developed dimensions. The final section, devoted to the conclusions, draws some general considerations and new procedures for research are proposed for future works
