Abstract

This article is a synthesis of the conference supported by Mtro. in History Severo Iglesias on November 26, 2004, within the forum organized by the Academy of
"Analysis of the Mexican Educational System" of the School of Psychology of the UMSNH. The guiding axis of this work -as its name indicates- lies in probing to what extent the
Technological revolutions that humanity has experienced - hence, Mexico - influence the training of professionals through universities. In order to create a frame of
reference, Mtro. Iglesias makes a brief historical tour -linked in six points which begins at the end of the 18th century and concludes today with an analysis of the
undeniable impact that the university has on contemporary social life. In this work, the author encourages us to question the "autonomy" of the university; in the same way, put on cloth
of judgment the position of our nation before the imminent unbridled professional competition with the globalization process. Finally, he invites us to reflect on the role that
each one of us in all this maelstrom of events; in his own words: “The social dream prevents seeing reality head-on ”. We thank Mtra. Greta Trangay,
teacher of our School, and member of the Academy, having provided us with the material to be published.
