Abstract

The being mother and father are inscribed by a condition that does not diminish only to the biological process is a function that is structured by the context of the culture. Across the historical process of the functions exercised by these themselves, to be a father and mother is narrowly related to the look and conception of the historical moment. To be a father and mother sends to the experiences of the relation with his own ghosts unconscious of the infantile life, where these inscriptions will be basics of the relation with his own children. In the present work one presents a reflection from different lines of the psychoanalysis on the paternity and the maternity.
