Emergency of a new paradigm: From classical thought to complexity
Main Article Content
Abstract
The traditional science of the West, whose epistemological support establishes the parameters and methodologies by which knowledge in the scientific community is validated, is not enough to describe reality in all its complexity. Therefore it is necessary to change the way of doing science, and our understanding of scientists. This article analyzes the theoretical basis of the dominant knowledge paradigm (Newtonian-Cartesian), to rescue its contributions and focus on a paradigm of complexity, an-episteme that goes beyond a linear causality. Explaining the contributions of this new paradigm, allows us to understand knowledge and observations in the field of psychotherapy from the perspective of chance and uncertainty rather than the viewpoint offered by traditional logic.
